WHO WE ARE
Chico Mário Cultural Institute
The ICCM – Instituto Cultural Chico Mário (Chico Mário Cultural Institute) is a non-profit organization created in 2017 with the goal of promoting the work of the composer and musician Francisco Mário (Minas Gerais, Brazil), a precursor of independent music in Brazil, and to promote education and citizenship through culture.
MISSION
Our mission is to study, safeguard, and communicate Francisco Mário’s lifework, aiming to enhance the public’s experience with music and cultural education and to stimulate knowledge and artistic production.

Education
We believe that Education is the key to profound social transformations. That’s why Education is in the DNA of everything we do and promote at the Institute.
Citizenship
We believe in Music and Arts as instruments of social inclusion and promotion of rights and citizenship, and that is why we promote projects with this purpose.
Memory
As an Institute dedicated to the memory and work of the composer and musician Chico Mário (from Minas Gerais, Brazil), it is our mission to safeguard and promote his lifework and history.
Space Maintenance
We want to democratize access to Music and the Arts, so we invest efforts in the promotion and management of spaces dedicated to cultural exchange, social inclusion, and education.
